A few months ago, we introduced our Sunscreen Serum in Nigeria. Since then, we’ve heard the same question from our US community: When can we try it?
We’re excited to finally say: it’s here.
Through a limited Founders Drop, we’re bringing our Sunscreen Serum SPF 50+ PA++++ to the US for a small-batch release.

If you’ve used our Brightening Moisturizer SPF 30, you already know our philosophy. Every Bolden sunscreen starts with high-performance UV protection, then goes a step further with thoughtfully chosen skincare ingredients that complement what sunscreen does best.
Our Brightening Moisturizer SPF 30 pairs broad-spectrum protection with Vitamin C. Sunscreen Serum continues that tradition with SPF 50+ PA++++, plus niacinamide and green tea in a lightweight serum texture that feels like skincare from the moment you apply it.
Because while sunscreen’s first job is to protect your skin from the sun, we believe it can also be an opportunity to care for your skin at the same time.
What’s the difference between SPF and PA++++?
You’re probably familiar with SPF, but PA++++ may be new to you. Here’s what each rating tells you.
SPF measures protection against UVB rays, which are primarily responsible for sunburn and play a significant role in the development of skin cancer.
PA is the grading system for UVA protection. UVA rays make up most of the UV radiation that reaches the earth and penetrate deeper into the skin, contributing to premature aging, loss of firmness, and making existing dark spots more persistent.
SPF alone only tells part of the story. With SPF 50+ and PA++++, Sunscreen Serum provides broad-spectrum protection against both UVB and UVA rays, helping defend your skin from both immediate and long-term UV damage.
Skincare benefits beyond sun protection
Sun protection is the foundation of every sunscreen we make. The skincare ingredients are what make each formula uniquely Bolden. That’s why Sunscreen Serum is formulated with:
Helps support the skin barrier and maintain healthy-looking skin.
Provides antioxidant support and helps maintain skin hydration.
And when we call it a serum, we mean it. Sunscreen Serum has a lightweight, fluid texture that applies more like your favorite skincare serum than a traditional sunscreen. It layers effortlessly under moisturizer and makeup without feeling heavy or greasy.
This Founders Drop is our first opportunity to share Sunscreen Serum with our US community.
As a limited production release, quantities are limited. Once this batch sells out, it won’t immediately be restocked. If you’ve been waiting to experience our newest sunscreen for yourself, now’s your chance.

Why doesn’t the Brightening Moisturizer SPF 30 have a PA++++ rating?
If you’ve noticed that our new Sunscreen Serum is labeled SPF 50+ PA++++, while our Brightening Moisturizer simply says Broad Spectrum SPF 30, you’re not alone.
The PA rating is an internationally recognized system, commonly used in Asia, that measures the level of protection against UVA rays. Our Sunscreen Serum was developed and tested to carry a PA++++ rating alongside its SPF 50+ designation.
Our Brightening Moisturizer SPF 30 is also a broad-spectrum sunscreen, meaning it has been tested to provide protection against both UVA and UVB rays in accordance with U.S. FDA requirements. It simply doesn’t display a PA rating because that testing and labeling system wasn’t used for that product.
In other words, both products provide broad-spectrum sun protection. The difference is how that protection is communicated on the label.
