A Primer on Sunscreen

As we happily head towards summer, we’re beginning to get more questions about sun protection and how to pick the right sunscreen. The easy answer is that the right sunscreen for you is the one you’ll wear religiously. There are a few caveats though, your sunscreen has to be broad spectrum and should have an SPF factor of at least 30. We’ll explain why these are important.

The sun’s rays take a toll on your skin; in the short-term, it can mean dealing with a painful sunburn or hyperpigmentation, and longer term, it can lead to photoaging (premature aging) and skin cancer.

Vitamins in Skincare

The vitamins you’ll mostly find in your skincare are Vitamin A, Vitamin B (B3 and B5), Vitamin C, Vitamin E and the so called Vitamin F. If you’ve never heard of vitamin F, don’t worry, it’s not a real vitamin, the F stands for Fats and it refers to the omega 3 and 6 fatty acids.

How can I get rid of my dark eye circles?

This is one of our most frequently asked questions. To be sure, no one enjoys the β€œyou look tired” comment, especially when you are not tired, as it also usually means you look worse than normal.

Dark under-eye circles are complex and could often have several underlying causes. They can also become more prevalent as we get older, and for those of us with darker skin tones, we are more prone to discoloration and hyperpigmentation due to our higher melanin levels.
